Joseph Rivers, Director of Music at St. James, Westwood, and Betty Richardson, former Oak Hills music educator, are working together to bring a unique opportunity for high school vocal musicians across the Greater Cincinnati area to perform Sacred Music from the Renaissance to 21st Century.

The St. James Sacred Chorale will allow young vocalists to perform high quality Sacred Music with only a short-term commitment. The selected repertoire is challenging, diverse and well worth the time to learn and perform at a high level. Selections include:

The Lord is Risen Indeed! – William Billings
If ye love me – Thomas Tallis
Hallelujah, Amen (from Judas Maccabeus) – G.F. Handel
Sure On This Shining Night –Morten Lauridsen
My Good Lord’s Done Been Here – André Thomas

There are no auditions or fees associated with this performing group. In addition, the time commitment for the Chorale is only eight one-hour rehearsals, which will take place on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting February 13.

If you have questions or a student who is interested in this fantastic opportunity, contact Joe Rivers at jrivers@stjamescincy.org or 513.661.1154 ext. 3 by February 12.
