The Ohio Civility Consortium and the Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer Legacy Committee invite you to participate in “Can We Talk? Moving From Discord to Dialogue,” a Town Meeting on Civility in Public Discourse on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium in Columbus, Ohio. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This special event will include in-person interaction and live streaming to engage Ohioans from across the state and encourage civility in public discourse. The event, scheduled just days after the Ohio primary, is especially timely in the 2016 election cycle.
Representatives from government at all levels, political parties, major organizations, the media, the public, high school students from across the state, and civility organizations will be participating.
A keynote panel discussion will feature Dan Glickman, former Member of Congress and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, and current Executive Director of The Aspen Institute; and former member of Congress Mickey Edwards.
This town meeting provides a unique opportunity to examine civility in political and other public discourse and to help develop approaches to move from discord to dialogue.
There is no charge to attend, but reservations are required. SPACE IS LIMITED.
