Chief Financial Officer David Robinson has announced plans for a sabbatical in 2016. He has scheduled sabbatical time for each quarter of 2016, by breaking his sabbatical up into three one-month sabbaticals and one month of vacation. Robinson will not be in the office for the months of March, May, July and October.
Robinson explains that he has envisioned his sabbatical time in stewardship terms of time, talent and treasure, as well as teaching. This will include a time of rest, time with family as his eldest daughter goes off to college, classroom and independent study through the Wharton School of Business and volunteering in churches by helping to set up accounting systems.
During Robinson’s time out of the office, the CFO functions will be administered in two ways. The diocesan treasurer (John Harris) and finance chair (Rob Kranz) will take over the strategic leadership aspects (Church Foundation, Trustees, Diocesan Council, etc) of the CFO responsibilities. They will also hold office hours to ensure checks are signed and other administrative items keep moving forward. The second aspect is the day to day over site of the accounting functions of the finance office. This will be done by our accounting manager (Giff Blaylock, consultant). He will handle the daily operations and answer questions and emails sent to the CFO.
All emails that you would normally send to the CFO (David Robinson) should be continued to be sent to him during his sabbatical months. Please also copy Giff Blaylock (firstname.lastname@example.org), who will make routing decisions in Robinson’s absence.

Tentative office hours for treasurer John Harris will be Tuesday and Friday afternoons, March 3, 8, 11, 15. Office hours for Rob Kranz will be as needed and for Giff Blaylock, Wednesday afternoons March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.
