Dr. L. Brett Scott, director of music at Church of the Redeemer, Hyde Park, announces a Celtic solstice concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 18 in the chapel.
Clark & Jones Trio will present a program of songs celebrating the holiday season from different traditions around the world in such countries as Ireland, Germany and America.
Nancy Clark, harpist; Frank Clark, bodhran; and Jude Jones, fiddler/guitarist comprise the trio.
Clark & Jones made their Redeemer debut in January 2009. Past performances have included Cincinnati Celtic Festival, Irish Heritage Center and Macy’s Arts Sampler concerts, as well as churches, libraries, and retirement communities throughout the Tri-State.
Jones is a board-certified music therapist who creates arts programming for Cedar Village Retirement Community’s dementia care residents and hospice patients. She is a songwriter and playwright. In addition, she performs with the Kentucky and Hamilton-Fairfield Symphonies.
Jones and Nancy Clark are both music ministers at St. Stephen Church in Columbia-Tusculum. Nancy also currently works as music minister, visiting residents individually at St. Margaret Hall in O’Bryonville
The Clarks formed at the Milwaukee Irish Festival in August 2016 with the group Dreama’s Dance. They have also performed and taught many workshops.
