The April 22 gathering will be held at the Church of St. Edward, Whitehall, and the May 13 session will be at Trinity Church, Newark. After gathering between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m., each session will begin promptly at 9:30 and conclude about 3:30 p.m. All participants should bring their personal copies of the BCP, and should attend both sessions. This training is intended for people who do not currently have LWL licenses, but anyone in need of license renewal is welcome to use it for that purpose by participating in both sessions. A one-session license renewal gathering will be held later in 2017. Requirements for the LWL license include three trainings: Lay Worship Leader training Safe Church training Anti-Racism training Once all these requirements have been completed, a letter requesting licensure is sent to the bishop by the rector, vicar or priest-in-charge (or if there is none, the senior warden). The license will be sent to the congregation, not to the Lay Worship Leader. Each participant should register online at a cost of $20/day, or $40 for the entire training. Participants who are not members of either host congregation are also expected to pay $10 to each host, for which the host churches will provide lunch and have coffee/tea available through the day. The leadership of this training is provided by the Rev. Marjorie Menaul (both weeks) and Ms. Debbie Stokes (second week). Questions and concerns can be directed to Marjorie at email@example.com.
