Gabriel’s Place, an urban nonprofit farm in Avondale dedicated to providing a safe, beautiful, and spiritually nourishing place for the Avondale Community to gather, is offering the following wellness workshops in May:

Beginner’s Yoga & Meditation, May 6, 13, 20 & 27, 10 a.m. Instructor Alexander Shelton’s class is geared for people of all ages, body types, mobility levels and experiences. Wear comfortable clothes and bring your own yoga mat if possible. If not, 10 yoga mats will be available at the class.
Financial Education Series, May 6, 13, 20, 27, noon-2 p.m. The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio will lead a series of workshops on Budgeting & Saving, Credit, Couponing, & Homeownership.
May Your Garden Thrive, May 20, noon-2 p.m. Dan Whorton, the garden manager at Gabriel’s Place, will teach a workshop on transplanting, cultivating, & harvesting. Class will be both indoors and outdoors so wear gardening attire appropriate for the weather.
DIY Bath & Body Products with Abundantly You, June 3, noon-2 p.m. Local beauty entrepreneur Candra Evans, owner of Abundantly You Bath & Body, will teach workshop participants to make body scrubs, lotion bars, lip balms, bath teas, & body washes.
