Christ Church Cathedral kicks off bicentennial celebration

With great excitement and joy, Christ Church Cathedral will begin celebrating our Bicentennial this Sunday, May 21. The occasion is being marked by a series of events spanning from May 2017 through April 2018.

The first official offering takes place this Sunday, May 21, as we welcome Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry to preach at both the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. morning services. The Rt. Rev. Thomas Breidenthal will serve as celebrant.

Following the 10 a.m. service, Presiding Bishop Curry will lead the adult forum discussion. Of note: photo opportunities will be made available after the forum if time permits.

Both the 10 a.m. service and the adult forum will be live streamed, and can be viewed by going to

For both the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services on May 21, we encourage attendees to find parking offsite downtown*, or in Over the Rhine if possible, and take the streetcar to the Fourth & Main Street stop. This will help to alleviate the cathedral’s limited number of guest parking spots at the Queen City Square parking garage.

As we move ever closer towards the kick off of our Bicentennial, and welcoming Presiding Bishop Curry to Christ Church Cathedral, we thank you, our members and friends, for your continued excitement and support of all of our upcoming events!

*Alternative parking opportunities can be found at Procter & Gamble with entry on Sixth Street; Western-Southern, with entry on Broadway; Great American building, with entry on Fourth and on Sycamore; PNC, with entry on Walnut; on street meters, which are free until 2 pm.
