Lord our God, Creator and Ruler of all things, you called your servant Abraham into covenant with you and bade him find his home in an unknown land: Grant to Jews, Christians, and Muslims, who look to Abraham as spiritual forebear and example, to be faithful as he was faithful and to venture courageously to unknown places. Inspire us to celebrate our common heritage, recognizing one another as beloved brothers and sisters while laboring and praying for the day when all your children will dwell together in one fellowship of justice, freedom, and peace.

This prayer, by Richard H. Schmidt, is taken from Prayers Old and New (Revised 2007 Edition), Forward Movement, Cincinnati.
