Ohio Crime Prevention Association (OCPA) is offering two church security trainings in January and February. These trainings, which are not underwritten by the diocese, are similar to the training offered here last fall.

The first training will be held on Saturday, January 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 233 Fair Ave. NE in New Philadelphia, Ohio. A second training will be held on Saturday, February 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wayside Chapel, 2341 Kerstetter Rd. in Bucyrus, Ohio.

This training course is designed to inform and educate those responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the people and property associated with churches, chapels, synagogues, temples, mosques, or any other place of worship we reverently call a House of Worship.  This course will assist in helping House of Worship leaders to learn how to prevent, avoid, and control various risks associated with the members, staff, guests, and buildings that make up your House of Worship.

The cost for either training is $40. Register at https://ocpa-oh.org/training.
