A series of bicentennial celebrations at All Saints, Portsmouth, begin June 8 at the annual church picnic. The picnic will be held at the 1810 House on Waller Street beginning at noon. Enjoy a house tour and a Greenlawn and Kinney’s cemeteries tour. Meat and drinks will be provided. Please bring a dish to share.
On June 16, the congregation will hold Sunday worship as it would have been in 1819, using the 1789 Book of Common Prayer for both the 8 and 10 a.m. services. A visit from Dr. Thomas Waller, All Saints’ first Senior Warden, is also anticipated!
Sunday, June 23 is the exact date of All Saints’ bicentennial anniversary, and on that day, only one service will be held at 11 a.m., with the bishop’s visitation, Confirmations, placement of a time capsule, a display of historical memorabilia and a reception.
Come and celebrate our bicentennial celebrations! All Saints is located at 610 Fourth Street in downtown Portsmouth. More information at http://allsaintsportsmouth.org.
