The 145th annual convention of the Diocese of Southern Ohio will be held November 15-16 at the Roberts Centre in Wilmington, OH. Important information you need to know to prepare for the convention:

Convention delegates are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-convention hearing in order to make informed decisions when voting at convention. As we did last year, all four pre-convention hearings will be held simultaneously via livestream on Tuesday, October 8, at 7 p.m. Delegates and clergy can attend at one of four interactive viewing sites throughout the diocese.

Cincinnati area: Christ Church, Glendale

Columbus area: All Saints, New Albany

Dayton area: St. Paul’s, Oakwood

Eastern area: Good Shepherd, Athens

Registration is now open online at There is no cost to attend the convention, but pre-registration is required for anyone wishing to attend either the business sessions on Friday or Eucharist and formation workshops on Saturday.

Registration will remain open until November 1 at 5 p.m. Anyone not registered by the November 1 deadline will need to register the day of the event. (Hint: avoid delays by registering by the deadline!)

Congregations are canonically required (see Canon III, Section 5) to certify the election of their Lay Delegates as soon as possible after they have been chosen at your annual meeting. This information is now reported on the Annual Reporting Form. If your congregation has not yet reported your election, you can submit the Annual Reporting Form on the diocesan website, If your lay delegates have changed since they were reported, you must complete a Change of Delegate form, which can be found at

New this year: Congregations that have not reported or have a change in their delegates will be unable to register for convention until these requirements are fulfilled.

NEW THIS YEAR: Liturgical 'Swap Meet'
Do you have gently used vestments and altar linens collecting dust in the closet? Do you need new purple altar linens and just don’t have money in the budget? Could your church use another chalice? Good news – we will be hosting our first-ever “liturgical swap meet” in the exhibit hall!

Bring your surplus linens, robes, vestments and other small appointments to the designated area in the exhibit hall, where they just may find a new home. Items from some closed congregations will also be available. Come with a list of your needs, and don’t forget your measurements!

Please note: No furniture or other large items will be accepted due to space limitations. Churches will be responsible for picking up any items not claimed. Watch for more information in Connections.
