St. John’s Music Series: Maureen McKay

February 10 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

St. John’s, Worthington, invites you to an afternoon with internationally renowned operatic soprano, Maureen McKay, on Sunday, February 10 at 3 p.m.

Maureen McKay returns to Columbus to perform an art song recital of varied repertoire. She reunites with revered collaborative accompanist Edward Bak from The Ohio State University. McKay is praised for her silvery soprano and dynamic character portrayals. Her program for the Music Series will include works by Purcell, Liszt, Schubert, Laitman, and Gershwin, among others. Past and future engagements include collaborations with The Metropolitan Opera, Komische Oper Berlin, The Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, and Seiji Ozawa’s Ongaku-juku Opera Project, in addition to many others. She has also led orchestras in Cleveland, Seattle, Saint Louis, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Genova, and Rome.

McKay completed her young artist training with Seattle Opera and Wolf Trap Opera Company. She earned her B.M. at Columbus State University in Georgia (summa cum laude) and her M.M. at The Ohio State University.

The Hospitality and Fellowship Committee will host a reception in the Atrium following the concert. We invite you to enjoy excellent music in a beautiful and historic space. There is no charge for admission to the concert; a freewill offering will be taken to support the Music Series.

St. John’s is located at 700 High Street in Worthington, on the southeast corner of the Olde Worthington Village Green (High Street at SR 161). Visit www.StJohnsWorthington.org for more information.
