St. John’s Music Series: Maureen McKay

St. John’s, Worthington, invites you to an afternoon with internationally renowned operatic soprano, Maureen McKay, on Sunday, February 10 at 3 p.m.
Maureen McKay returns to Columbus to perform an art song recital of varied repertoire. She reunites with revered collaborative accompanist Edward Bak from The Ohio State University. McKay is praised for her silvery soprano and dynamic character portrayals. Her program for the Music Series will include works by Purcell, Liszt, Schubert, Laitman, and Gershwin, among others. Past and future engagements include collaborations with The Metropolitan Opera, Komische Oper Berlin, The Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, and Seiji Ozawa’s Ongaku-juku Opera Project, in addition to many others. She has also led orchestras in Cleveland, Seattle, Saint Louis, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Genova, and Rome.
McKay completed her young artist training with Seattle Opera and Wolf Trap Opera Company. She earned her B.M. at Columbus State University in Georgia (summa cum laude) and her M.M. at The Ohio State University.
